WORKING WOMAN’S RIGHT TO MILK PERMISSION
Every working woman has certain social rights after giving birth. The most curious of these rights is the right to milk leave. Breastfeeding leave is a right given to working women to feed their babies on a weekly basis. Women who work within the specified hours take advantage of these permissions to breastfeed their babies. This leave is given by the employer and no wage deduction is made. You can claim your rights legally from the employer who does not give this permission.
How Much is a Milk Permit?

As of 2019, breastfeeding leave is 1 and a half hours per day until the child turns 1 year old. You have the right to use your maternity leave at any time interval you wish. If you make an agreement with the employer, you can use the 1 and a half hour daily maternity leave on any day of the week collectively. Such agreements are generally applied more in large enterprises that work in shifts and mass production. In agreement with your employer on this matter, you can use your right to maternity leave during the day or use it on a weekly basis. Businesses that do not want to give milk permit are penalized according to SSI articles. If you cannot get your milk permit, you should apply for legal remedies as soon as possible.
At the same time, the social insurance institution pays 180 TL for breastfeeding, for once per baby. For this, there is a requirement to have worked as an insured for 120 days before the date of birth. You can get breastfeeding support by applying to the social insurance institution.
