Sanctions within the Scope of KVKK
KVKK stipulates the following sanctions in the event of unlawful processing of personal data:
Administrative Fine: The most frequently applied type of sanction. The amount of the fine is determined according to the nature, duration of the act committed and the nature of the data.
Correction, Deletion or Destruction of Data: If personal data has been processed unlawfully, the data must be corrected, deleted or destroyed upon the request of the data owner.
Stoppage of Data Processing: If personal data has been processed unlawfully, a decision to stop data processing may be made.
Obligation to Provide Information: The data controller is obliged to inform the relevant persons and the Personal Data Protection Board in the event of a personal data breach.
Obligation to Publish: In the event of a personal data breach, it may be necessary to make an announcement to the public through the methods determined by the Board.
