Blue Card is a special status given to those who were born abroad and lost their Turkish citizenship from a Turkish citizen mother or father. Blue Card holders can benefit from many rights in Turkey. The most important of these rights are:
Residence and work permit in Turkey
The right to obtain a residence and work permit for his/her spouse and children
The right to benefit from social security and health services
Right to purchase real estate

Blue Card holders can become Turkish citizens again by meeting certain conditions. These conditions are:
1. National Security and Public Order:
The applicant must not have a situation that would pose an obstacle in terms of national security or public order.
2. Application:
The Blue Card holder must apply to the governorships in the country and the foreign representative offices abroad and inform them that he/she wants to become a Turkish citizen.
The application can be made in person or through a proxy.

4. Evaluation:
Applications are evaluated by the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs.
If the application is found appropriate as a result of the evaluation, the Blue Card holder is given a Turkish citizenship certificate.
Ease in Reacquiring Turkish Citizenship for Blue Card Holders:
Returning to Turkish citizenship for Blue Card holders was facilitated by the legal regulation made in 2016.
With this regulation, some conditions such as residence period are not required for Blue Card holders.
