Drugs are the general name of the stimulant substances which are subject to penalty for possession or use in the Turkish Penal Code. Using drugs is defined as a crime by legal regulations in our country. You should not forget that you will be subject to some penalties if you are caught with drugs whose use, sale and possession are regulated by certain penalties. Many different types of drug possession are regulated in our criminal laws. So, how many years do you get sentenced if you get caught for drugs?
Possession of drugs for use, buying stimulants, agreeing to use or possessing drugs means you will be sentenced to 2 to 5 years in prison. If you commit any of these actions in areas such as schools, hospitals, dormitories, barracks, your penalty will be increased by half. Keeping in mind that drugs are a crime in the legal sense and are regulated with punishment, you should not forget that you should stay away from drugs, not be in contact with people who use or sell drugs, and you should provide a space for these people. In all these cases, it is possible that you will not be punished due to legal procedures, you should know that even if it is proven that you do not use drugs, you will receive the same penalties if you are in possession of them. Penalties for such acts within 200 m of sanctuaries and schools will be half the normal penalties. Being in contact with drugs in any way is considered a crime in the Turkish Penal Code. You should know that you should be serving a minimum of 2 to 5 years in prison and you will not benefit from a reduction of any kind.
